Golf Day 2010
Kevin Fossett, Pete Godding, Rob Hall and Graham Vizor represented the Swindon Spurs Supporters Club in the Swindon Cares Charity Golf Day at Marlborough Golf Club on June 15th.
This was a 4 man team Stableford competition with the 2 best scores counting on each hole.
Unfortunately, the team just missed out on the prizes, finishing a worthy 5th. 'arry would have been very disappointed not to have finished in the top 4, but the team did win many plaudits for their stunning attire featuring a very large Branch logo on the back of the shirts.
Pete took one of the individual prizes for his tee shot on 14th, which rolled to within 33 inches of the hole.
None of the players seemed perturbed by Derry and his camera lurking in the bushes - Montgomery and Tiger please note. Rob's game improved dramatically from the 4th, following on-course coaching from Kev and Pete; it was a shame they couldn't apply the same to Graham's game which took until the 17th to come alive.
Never mind, the big winners were Leaves and The Swindon Downs Syndrome Group, which received a lot of money from an excellent day's entertainment.
