Tottenham Till I Die Book Update Tues 01 Sep 2009
We have just received this from David Lane, who was involved in putting together the book.
I’m delighted to say that Spurs fans really came up trumps and we were inundated with high quality stories – some will make you laugh, some will make you cry, but all give a wonderful insight into what it real means to be a fan of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
The book is due to be launched at the end of October [the provisional date is October 21st] and those who have stories included will be sent an invite to the event that will be held at White Hart Lane and invites will be sent out as soon as details have been confirmed. Hopefully Spurs will still have a 100% record by then too!
If you could inform your members that advanced orders for the £10 book are now being taken through the online clubs shop – and any fan who pre-orders this week will be guaranteed to get their name printed in the ‘Dedications’ section at the back of the book as part of the price, which is a great idea. Lane Of Dreams Book Wed 29 Jul 2009
Stephen Savory has very kindly pointed out that The Lane Of Dreams book by Norman Gillier is now out and WH Smith has taken delivery. He has arranged for a couple of copies to be sent to the Swindon branch so any Swindon Spurs member who fancies a copy better hot foot it down there at the weekend!! Thanks very much Stephen.

The Lane Of Dreams Book is Here Sun 22 Feb 2009
We have been asked by author/publisher Norman Giller to place on line the following message about his forthcoming book on the history of White Hart Lane (The Lane of Dreams) that he has written, with an introduction by Spurs legend Jimmy Greaves. It is the 82nd book by sports historian Norman, a former Daily Express chief football writer and one of the most experienced sports journalists in the country:
"As from Tuesday, I will be offering the Lane of Dreams book as a try-before-you-buy download for £2.99. Anybody who likes it will then be able to order the £18.95 printed version for a discounted tenner. The full details will be up on line on Tuesday at http:www.thelaneofdreams.co.uk
The actual printed version is a whacking A4 size and will have 224 pages. You will be able to judge whether it is worth purchasing by reading the electronic download.
Bear in mind that I started out in the world of typewriters and carbon paper, so this has been a long journey. I feel a bit like Neil Armstrong (or was it Louis?) taking the first step on the Moon. "This is one small step for man, but a giant step for an old git like me ... or words to that effect.

Blackburn away match on Saturday 4th April. 12.45 KO.
We are running a comfy 9 seater bus to Blackburn leaving the White Hart at 8am. Fare TBA. This is on a first come first served basis. So far we have 5 places remaining on the bus. Tickets for this match should be easy to secure through THFC or in previous years fans have been able to pay at the gate.

Bus Leaving Times Mon 09 Feb 2009
For details on what times the minibus will leave the White Hart for home matches, please look at the transport and travel section. The bus leaving time will also be indicated underneath the next home game block on the right hand toolbar of this page as well. I hope this clarifies any confusion members may have.

Members Meeting Tonight Sun 22 Feb 2009
A message to all members that the monthly members meeting will be taking place tonight at the White Hart at 7.30pm. It has been brought forward by a week so that we can all enjoy the Carling Cup Final next weekend.
So come along and hear all the latest Carling Cup Final news and perhaps buy some club badges as well!!
151 Is The Lucky Number Thurs 12 Feb 2009
THFC have just confirmed that all bronze and lilywhite members will require 151 loyalty points or more for a cup final ticket. Any member with enough points now just has to wait for the ticket to arrive on their doormat.
Should you require transport to the final, please let Roman know as soon as possible so that a suitably sized bus can be arranged for our trip to Wembley.

The final part of the ballot has just opened for bronze and lilywhite members to apply for their cup final ticket. It is unknown yet as to how many points are required to secure a ticket since everyone who applies has an equal chance.

Carling Cup Final (Sunday 1st March) Thurs 22 Jan 2009
We have once more made it to Wembley. Can I make a quite clear that THFC do NOT give preference for Cup Final tickets to Official Branches. Last season members needed 126 loyalty points to secure a ticket. If you have around that many you could be inline for a ticket. We now have to wait for THFC to make arrangements and share these plans with us supporters. Should you be lucky and get a ticket by whatever means please let me know if you require transport.

Please let me know if you will be requiring transport to this match. I will need to know asap please in order to book the correct size vehicle. Please keep an eye on the THFC site for the correct voucher needed to secure your cup final ticket.

Shakhtar Donetsk Home Ticket News Thurs 22 Jan 2009
Due to the credit crunch the branch did not receive enough ticket orders (2) by the deadline date of Wednesday 21st. The minimum number of 10 ticket orders were not taken up by Swindon Spurs members, which is the THFC requirement. Therefore no tickets have been ordered for this match. Should any members purchase tickets nearer the match time please contact Roman for transport details.

New Club Pin Badge Sat 17 Jan 2009
The club has produced a new enameled branch pin badge. The writing on the badge will be gold and silver with a proper safety pin clasp at the rear. The cost to members will be £1.50. Delivery of the badges is expected soon. Contact Roman for more details or pop along to the monthly meeting for more information.
